but it reminded me of a funny thing that I've seen happen in real life
there was this military base that had a comms position that they were recently allowed to hire civilian contractors for
the problem was, the pay was beyond shit, and the equipment used there was ancient, made in late 60s kind of ancient
you couldn't find a retard that: would be smart enough to learn the hardware, wouldn't fail a drug test, and would still agree to work for this cheap
but they managed! they found a perfect woman for the job
a guy managed to find an ex-military granny who was nearly 80 now, had no job, desperately needed something (anything) to happen in her life, and - wow - worked on comms equipment very much like that back when she was still young
so that ancestral radio knowledge arch-hag was now sitting in her comms room, buried deep inside military base, behind locked blast doors, running the thing, and lot of people using that comms system would hear her voice
and her voice? it aged well
it was a voice of a young girl - on a woman that looked like she's overdue an appointment in afterlife
so what did the utterly clueless guys on the military base do?
a lot of them tried hitting on her!
they would even call her on purpose to flirt with her, and she loved it
it was fucking hilarious
