MHW works like that too, but it bumps the handholding to players up to 11 by giving you items that outright make your character invulnerable, steal health on hit, suffer from no flinch animation and other mechanics, but the game at its core is still difficult to newcomers but with all the help players get they end up making even the most shittest of players feeling like a Dark Soul's god.
