For Cloud, Aerith is as unattainable as Zach. In order for him to self actualize, he has to learn to accept himself and stop yearning for her and accept her death/being seperated from her (as we are all inevitably seperated from our mother's care in order to grow up). To Aerith, Cloud is another traumatized orphan she's taking care of, and in Cloud's psychosis, he confuses this motherly affection for a romantic ideal.
Aerith is Zach's bitch, and Cloud isn't Zach. Cloud is Cloud, and Tifa is Cloud's bitch. Anyone who yearns for Aerith is a CHILD.
