That's why they can shut down projects that the girls spent money on, seemingly on a whim. That's why they encourage the English-speakers to move to Japan and they incentivize it by helping them move and giving them more opportunities to use the 3D studio and such. Play nice with management and you get treated better. Fauna didn't particularly give a fuck about roaming Tokyo or pretending to be Japanese so it's not a shocker to anyone paying attention that she quit due to constant friction with those fucks.
And again, this is a Japanese company issue, not exclusively a Cover/Hololive issue and arguably other companies do it in a more extreme way. Example in gaming: Konami and the hideo kojima situation (except it was later it was slowly revealed he kinda deserved it for being a cocksucker but that's not the point) where they basically bullied him out for spending too much money on projects and general mismanagement of funds on his part. In a Western company you might have more of a shot at actually talking things out if you're someone the company sees as valuable and they might try to find common ground with you. In Japan, they will passive-aggressive the fuck out of everything you say or do until you get the hint that they don't give a fuck about you. She simply reached a point where she realized she was incompatible with Japanese corpo culture, not Hololive itself.
