>>9454815I can't know for sure, but I have a guess. Starting from /jp/ the term "abayo" would be used in reply to someone who posted things such as either NSFW images or roommate doxx. Like a disapproving, mocking, way of saying "Later!" to someone who fucked up (e.g. if you reported them).
But language evolves, especially in the presence of people who haven't done their reps. As best I can tell, a bunch of EOPs only saw "abayo" used in this context, with a "you fucked up" tone, and now I see it used in that way, even though it doesn't always make sense as "goodbye".
