At least for Hololive, the Live2D avatars generally look better. And there's no need for a 3D avatar if they're just gonna sit there playing a game.

sloppy 2D face tracking is cute, sloppy 3D face tracking annoys me for some reason. Miko's new model might be better quality and have more expressions than her old one but the rig is awful, her mouth barely moves and he only makes like two faces. The only vtuber I've seen to actually use their models (both 2D and 3D) to their fullest potential is Watame.

If they wiggle around a lot then 3d is nice and feels extremely human but otherwise 2d, usually. Depends how stiff the 2d model is as well. I really like how bouncy Kiara/Ollie's 2d models are, I don't know if that would translate to 3d perfectly

Still waiting on 1d and 4d debuts tbqh

You can't see 1D, it's only one dimension so it will either have no with or no height.

Definitely prefer 3D if the model and tracking is good quality. For example Sara Hoshikawa looks way better in 3D
