Mumei's actually someone I can see not returning as an indie.
Even if she did return, I doubt she'd make a debut out of it as to not bring any expectations for her to stream more than once a month or do any crazy projects.
Plus I'm pretty sure that degree isn't getting wasted streaming to nerds.

Anon that is malicious compliance which is doing the minimum required by her contract. Gura and Mumei are doing the same thing since they are both fighting with management. That doesn't mean that Hololive is getting more graduations in 2025 but it shows that Cover is using the NDA to keep fans in the dark.

It's possible that at some point she started a graduate degree program. But more likely, she's had trouble balancing her studies and job, resulting in failing classes or taking fewer classes per semester. Either of which would extend her time as an undergrad. I just hope that her absence is just an attempt to focus on her degree so it's over and done with.
