from what ive seen he can talk perfectly normally when he wants to. he plays up the socially awkward thing to lighten the mood when the atmosphere is uncomfortable. i have real social anxiety. i have panic attacks, i freeze up, i cry and ive never seen him struggle as bad as your average game streamer would. i dont watch him that often so i might be completely wrong though. if you have examples i'd like to see them

Like when Dokuzuhonsha went out to eat but Kuzuha was too early so instead of walking around or something, he squatted on the floor and played Shadoba, or when Kenmochi had to grill his meats for him because he's scared of the popping oil, or when there's times Kanae would take him to expensive restaurants he has to ask him to order for him. The answer is no one fucking knows yet because most EN corpos and virtually no relevant ones avoid getting males.
My guess is it will never be as successful as the JP males but it won't be a disastrous trainwreck, it would be pretty normal. Reminder that first NijiJP males are Hajiki and Aki-kun, both literalwhos until this day and the former is notable only for being infamous and generally disliked. First gen isn't really a big deal.

I was talking about EN vtuber scene. Male Nijis are doing fine because Japanese actually care about male vtuber. Non-Japanese vtuber fans are 99% Holofans and Holofans don't care about male vtuber and the absolute state of Holostars is the proof.

Safest play is hire someone who's good at games. I mean if you take cnr in their base form they're just league challenger guy and another guy who was about to be picked up by a pro PUBG team. This could work in EN. "Why not just watch a regular streamer?", same can be said about early cnr viewers, why watch these anime avatar niggas when you can watch stylishnoob and etc. Just a matter of building stable viewership at first with gaming skills then slowly build up from there

idk wtf you're talking about with Lauren having the lowest numbers and Leos is also good at his respective games. Not saying that's what gives Leos the edge over Lauren but we can't leave out the gaming skill factor because it matters and that's why I said it's the safest play. Non-niji example but take a look at Astel, a good chunk of his fanbase is non-japanese and he steadily inclined with being good as a factor.

I blame it on Hololive fan mentality, because most western vtuber fans were mostly Holofags during NijiEn1 auditions.
An you know how holofags are trained - "main branch for females, separate branch for males". As a result, only a few males applied, and Niji weren't able to find good candidates among them.
