TL;DR is that pikamee predated holoEN and was one of the first to stream in both english and japanese, developing a western following from her own weird hafu/ESL charm. ina was one of the people to be a big fan of her before myth debuted. on the other hand, selen is the first western vtuber I can think of to develop a following from just being a high energy, loud tomboy who focuses mainly on just being as entertaining/funny as possible with less effort put towards "idol" ventures. nijiEN wouldn't have collapsed nearly as hard if "we have selen and pomu" wasn't 90% of why most people cared about that branch at all
