VSPO EN suffered hard from a lack of hype and effective marketing. We already know that VSPO, in general, tends to operate as a more esports-oriented vtuber group. And to their credit, they did recruit several chuubas that show skill in their games of choice. But as we all know, being good at a game isn't the end-all and be-all of a vtuber's ability to retain an audience. Many of the people who debuted into VSPO EN were basically nobodies in terms of their connections to the wider vtuber sphere. This leaves them pretty isolated to drown in a sea of smaller indies. With the series of graduations and terminations of vtubers from bigger corpos, VSPO EN also has to punch upward because of Doki, Mint, Dooby, and Nimi while also having to contend with large established indies for the English-speaking audience like Bao, Chibidoki, etc.
I've been saying this for a while now in different threads but I unironically believe they do need to do a bit of grifting to leech a bit of an audience from larger creators, even if all it accomplishes is getting more and more people to know their names. Unfortunately, they chose Niji EN to leech from, of all places.
