>>943900It's nice in the immediate sense but can also be kind of played as patronizing/condescending.
>awww that's too bad you're ugly/disabled/broken mentally and don't have a chance to ever actually make it in this world>I'll give you this job you can do partially because I think you'd be good at it but also partially out of pity It's more like still, an unusual amount of them seem to have some kind of past. It could also be more like it's a consequence of being a streamer and eventually opening up and being personal with your viewers, that just reveals these things. Or that sad stories just get more sympathy hence subs/memberships etc so maybe they are even asked to touch on any sad stories they have - there could be an ulterior motive aka they favor those because it helps viewer bond closer to the Holos by dragging emotions out of them. Unless you grew up in a Leave-it-to-Beaver type family most people have had various crappy parts and low points they can touch on and play up. Then again, it doesn't look like all of Yagoo's picks had a troubled past, it's not guaranteed. I mean Lamy seemed like she didn't need the job at all, Coco and Botan was doing fine on her own already etc.
So maybe, it's actually like during an interview,
>so do you have any crazy stories? interesting background stuff you are open to talk about? it'd be good bonding content so ...>you do? you say you were so poor you had to eat grass at one point? you have some kind of heart condition? hmmm interesting
