I think for both sexes it was always just about being "nice" to them, especially as we grow older and more mature. What trips people up is what being "nice" actually entails. I've noticed that men and women are socialized very differently while they're growing up, and quite often the meanings of their statements don't translate over well to the opposite sex, especially if they didn't grow up around them or have poor experiences with them. What could be nice under one person's viewpoint could easily be a backhanded compliment for another. For kindness to actually work, it would require the speaker and the listener to actually have some level of understanding and respect for each other's different viewpoints, and that doesn't happen if you or your partner don't know anything beyond being superficially nice to them. If you think about it then, then we're not just looking for someone who can just be "nice" to us, but someone who is nice and understands us. Of course for it to work out it would require us to be that way towards them too.

Because women don't understand that men do not share their insecurities (e.g. "not like other girls" etc) but instead have an entirely different set of them. When I worked with a charity thing I most handled logistic and paper stuff but a lot of the women especially younger women were trained to be nice, sound interested and shit when soliciting money. In my defense I only use "woman moments" jokingly, and really that almost always describes a teenage woman moment more than women in general. Also I don't use the term sister with a mocking way, in a way I see it as endearing instead... until you talk about nijisisters then they can go fuck themselves for more than obvious reasons.
