>>94495464For the streamer, there's a lower barrier to entry and grow. You can set up your OBS, and any time you want to go live, you can hit start stream.
On youtube I am fairly certain (haven't tested) you have to have the dashboard open to start your stream. Not to mention the random ID each stream is given means you won't know the location of your stream until you start it, unless you make a frame ahead of time. And then to stream to the scheduled frame you still have to open the dashboard and make sure it's the selected one before you start stream.
Also Youtube is inconsistent on when it finally starts to keep settings between streams, such as if it's public/unlisted or embeddable.
You can see how lazy people are by how many still don't dual-stream to Youtube even though Twitch started allowing it for partners a long time ago. That extra friction of even just having to open the Youtube dashboard is enough to stop some people from bothering.
Some could also be the opposite of me and refuse to use Youtube where I refuse to use Twitch, though. But for the rest dual-streaming seems like a dumb thing to not do, and yet they don't.
All that said I wish people would take advantage of the fact that you can stream at 1440p on Youtube with having to pay to do so. God the quality bump is ridiculous.
