The power supply will manage the outgoing load for you. Judging by the warning she gets when she falls under 10mph, rather than the stream just dying, I assume she's doing something like that. The power usage is definitely nowhere near a kilowatt, that's fuckin microwave territory, quick googling says 5-20 watts is average consumption.
