The branding change they need is to aggressively target straight men because that's who watches content creators. While that isn't explicitly what they did at the beginning, it was close with the group dynamic, which is why Vesper talked about having a high male viewership and why Judge Magni had 10k ccv. That all came crashing down when the drama started, and became unrecoverable when those 2 left.
If they want to have successful male vtubers in the EN speaking world, they're going to have to do things that frankly put their whole brand at risk. Male content creators don't grow when they're constrained by strict corporate autism. Even the absolute safest people outside of that limitation like Lythero or modern Game Grumps would have their content decimated by Cover's model. If they can't get rid of that, they'll never be anything more than a moderate streaming success only survived by the brand name.
