From the company's point of view, their own willful inaction did not damage their reputation, but her reporting on their willful inaction did. They absolutely will terminate her for it, and they absolutely will be spectacularly hostile about it - at this point the only questions are:

They'll have up to 30 mouthpieces to choose from, some being more meaningful than others. But who they choose will at least partially depend on what sins they decide to list on her white paper, and also to a lesser extent which livers are physically in Japan at the moment they fire her (they wouldn't legally be able to refuse to slander her)
