The Suisei concert's lighting doesn't give off the vibe of an obvious 2D screen in front of you. Of course we aren't smart enough to invent a 3D VTuber concert without a 2D screen yet, but in the meantime, we can find some solution to make the immersion more real and that we aren't just watching in front of a TV, and the Niji one failed to do the absolute bare minimum

anon that looks objectively better. It's deep in and there's things like torches obscuring the dimensions. On top of that, they aren't up against a gigantic bright background that accentuates how fake it looks. Darkness is your friend with scenes like this.
Regardless, Niji bad and they probably charged like triple for it.

For example, scenes like this clearly won't show properly in the actual venue since there's obviously no claw extending out over the crowd. The other few concerts I've seen leaked like the chronoir one at least understood how important darkness and selling the illusion with 3D space was.

These concerts will always look terrible until they start using 3D screen meshes that have different information given to them to actually make things pop more.
These 2D projections have and always will look cringe as fuck, literally "omg hologram!!!" like that retard news channel trying to hype it up

But even the 3D screen meshes won't match a true hologram, and so far the best we can do there is some Star Wars electric blue looking ass holograms, or colored ones using an even more expensive laser system. That shit sadly ain't leaving the lab any time soon
