>>95441051The end of the calendar year, or the end of the fiscal year? Because the fiscal year ends in less than three months, EN has likely been operating in the red since November, and EN does not seem to have any outstanding third party business contracts other than Niji Encounter.
Also merging/closing the branch will mean laying off most or all non-vtuber employees within the EN branch except Harry, and I think JP employment law would require some degree of advance notice for layoffs. Also also, most of the livers are content with their respective direct managers, who are competent (or at least not actively antagonistic); but those direct managers will be laid off, and the soon-to-be-ex-EN livers will be assigned to heavily ESL managers who are each already managing multiple JP livers, and who have probably already been instructed that the ex-EN livers are to be their lowest priority. I can't imagine anyone other than Meloco wanting to stay if it means working with a new manager who at best does not understand English cultural idioms, and at worst would expressly prohibit them from speaking to staff in any language other than Japanese.
>>95441914Okay. Cool. Good for the C-suite assholes and the investors.
How do the EN livers and their fans benefit from this? How does increased shareholder value help them?
>>95455910Credit where credit's due, though - pretty much nobody in Niji EN has anything scheduled for the anniversary.
Mint and Doki are also taking that day offBut I still can't help but wonder if management is gonna make them draw lots to see who will "voluntarily" stream tomorrow night to remind the world that management still hates Doki, or who will draw the short straw if that happens. I hope it doesn't happen, but will not be surprised if it does.
