>>95786212You mean flowglow? Those guys only just got revealed lmao. The thing is, Ao's solo streams don't do well enough. She clearly targeted at a different fanbase and the original fanbase recognizes this. Overall reception to her character design, personality and the type of content she puts out has been luke-warm at the very best. That's why she's spamming collabs, but that won't help her solo career, as people seem to just tolerate her at best.
Make no mistake, we're long past the golden age of vtubing. Market saturation is a very real thing, just look at how Cover's last two gens are doing. most of em are struggling to even get to 1m subs. Looking at the stock info that came out last week, it seems people are getting tired of this cute little subculture thing. It had a chance of breaking through into the mainstream, but before that could happen,
the normies got tired of it and moved on.
That means that Cover's beancounters are probably getting antsy about making the numbers go up again, which means there's gotta be some changes, some cuts. Maybe focus on the golden gens more, get rid of some of the "dead weight". Maybe they're giving some of the talents an ultimatum, some kinda target number they gotta reach by the end of the year or something. This is probably why a buncha talents went semi-menhera the last couple of months (Polka, Iroha, Koyori to name a few). I think it's very likely that this could be putting more strain on the talents, but who the fuck knows...Cover works in (retardedly) mysterious ways, while the talents are bound by NDAs and openly talking about your mental health is a big no-no in this type of workplace.
