>>9661579The difference in Chinese and American news is that if you actually go outside and not on /pol/ or twitter, most people realize the news and media are retarded and just live their lives because they know in reality none of it really affects their day to day.
I talk to a few Chinese girls, and most of them don't want to go back to China (but will because family) because they believe 100% their future there is limited because of corruption and how nepotism is just a widely practiced thing. Meanwhile they have a perfectly good career here with plenty of opportunity to rise even on a temporary Chinese visa.
But on the flip side, I'd take something like the vaccine as an example. On the internet everyone freaks out on one way or another, in reality if I tell someone I'm a little skeptical about it and don't want to take it until its FDA approved, 99% of the people I've talked to were supportive of my decision (my family ironically being the only one who shuts their ears and regurgitates the news, but they're boomers so whatever)
On the other hand though, you have these Chinese girls who unironically completely believe that China solved covid day 1 and there's no outbreaks there and never were. And its ridiculous hearing them trust the shit their government says without even the slightest bit of doubt.
