I said they should have done this years ago, way back in 2021 as the company was growing and obvious disagreements were happening.
But no, they kept going full steam ahead, and even created a whole side thing that was more "alt idol focused", whatever the fuck that meant, didn't change shit.
They changed branches and shit before.
Gamers were literally just supposed to be a bunch of gamers, yet they functionally dissolved that idea and just became the same thing as the main branch.
Why? Korone and Fubuki alone had more draw than quite a few of them at the time.
The fact that they were essentially more idol-like than some of the mainline gens itself doesn't mean you needed to unroll the idea, just LET them do that shit if they want to, but you don't need to state, "alright, you guys are mainliners now" unless they wanted to be.
Your talents could easily be allowed to transition from one group to the other if they wished to, yearly even, if they aren't feeling up to it one year and want to focus on other shit, LET them.
The strictness of content production is what is leading them to leave.
It's not just "le idol shit", it's everything in between.
Hololive used to be a lot more freeform, even when they were growing huge in numbers, but at some point that transitioned to be more heavily content production focused rather than doing it just because it was fun.
That's when the companies soul died.
