>>97094773>hololive doesn't feel special anymore after repeated graduationsThere's a bit of nuance to this.
When holos were a lot more intertwined, we used to ACTIVELY watch and follow a huge chunk of holos - this is what formed the holobox.
Aqua,Shion,Ame,Fauna etc. are from that era.
They had a fanbase of their own, but they were also "secondary oshis" for other fanbases. I have noticed an increasing amount of insularism in the community, more and more fans are retreating back into watching a smaller circle of holos so that they don't have to deal with the pain of one of them leaving (I'm talking about actual fans btw, not fags that stick 10 oshimarks on twitter but never watch any streams). And ofc they're mostly concentrated around big holos who are guaranteed to stick around and stream for a long time (peko, migo, suisei, marine etc.).
This is probably why this year's fes didn't feel as fun as previous ones.
Where you'd cheer for ALL the girls in the older fes, this year you're cheering for only your oshi and her circle, which is obviously only a small part of the entire fes, especially with 4 stages now.
Graduations are the thousand cuts of Hololive, each of them cuts off some of the fanbase for sure, but fans only started watching Hololive because it made them happy. Graduations becoming common enough to be "yet another" shrinks the box and throws cracks on it, limiting the community effect.
This is why it's imperative to stop pushing for new debuts and start building stronger bonds between existing talents, so that the box is reinforced.
Each graduation causing a crack is inevitable, which is why you need more and more bonds to keep the box together.
