Nene made 413.2k with that number as the floor. This does not include people who only bought the smaller items (I only bought the plushie from the newest batch for example).

The thing that differentiates niji and holo merch is that anykara probably has their own factory or something in China that could mass produce merch easily. From files, keychains to acrylic stands, it's easy to just print a picture onto them, cost less and profits 5x. From a business standpoint, it's smart but it ain't consumer/customer friendly. Then, there's voice packs. I could understand yearly ones, but monthly ones feels stupid.

Fair enough to say SC aren't everything. We don't know how much they get in ad revenue, members, sponsor deals, or other official gigs.

An anon was able to easily pull the booth numbers though for both Holo and Niji back in June.
Ignoring the Coco and Lulu graduation runs, the highest selling Niji was Lize's voice pack with ~2.8k units, which, even Mel had over 2k units sold for her full 120$ signed pack.

that's because they didn't get many sponsorship offers back then, they had to approach the potential sponsors in person for each and every deal and obviously they want to set up some guidelines as to who exactly gets to represent their product. Most of Europe has 40-50%. Depending on the salary though it can get way higher, since high earners get taxed more, just like in the US.
Japan has about 28%, though some taxes are fixed instead of percentage, so it depends on each person. Also, if you don't have JP citizenship, it's straight up +10% added.
Plus other local taxes, KanaCoco talked about both paying a lot of prefecture taxes and receiving some expensive beef as a tank you gift.

Canada has only 22-26%, unless you're self employed (youtuber), then you have a stupid 40% tax instead.

The marginal increase in income they would get from numberfagging harder is almost worthless to them compared to pursing things that they enjoy. Tamaki had an all singers interview once (wish any of it was translated) and from what i understand (could be wrong translation here), Meli and Chima said a cover can cost 150-250$.
That being artwork, sound mixing, editing and low-level mv, mostly consisting of animated lyrics.
Even considering they would pay 12% to the person they cover like in the west, by most metrics a 200k views cover should make its money back just from ad revenue.

Gura especially could just sing in front of a static image and get 5 million per cover within just a few months.

Side note, from how the topic of unity in EN was talked for a bit a few threads ago, I think another thing EN 2 does that puts them ahead(if we compare from how EN 1 was at first) is that I can usually manage to catch at least 1 of their genmates in the chat at some point, showing that they do watch each other.
