I looked around at maps for about 10 minutes then looked at things to do and I think I might go to Osaka that way I can easily go to Kobe, Kyoto, and Nara since they'd all be about an hour train ride away (plus the there isnt an international airport in Kyoto so I'd have to get a train anyways).
What I'd probably do is try and find some out of the way places to go eat, hopefully talk to people, experience the culture and have just have fun (and maybe go to one of those "American restaurants" to see how accurate it is lol) before I go back to the states and whatever responsibilities I'll have in the future. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll make some long distance friends (man or woman doesn't matter)
Not sure when I'd go but If the price for the whole trip + $1k USD for spending (just to be sure I have more than enough money) is 7k then I can get close to that in June or July if I min max my money although I hear its hot and rainy during that time so I might end up waiting for it to get colder (granted the better weather would be more tourists and a more expensive trip)
Its a fantasy/day dream right now but thats how everything important starts
