Doesn't it put a bad taste in your mouth if a streamer says things along the lines of "I listen to my fanbase" and then the one time you, as a part of that fanbase, speak, you get blocked?
That's why the PR move is normally just to ignore it
Is basically telling your fan, "Sorry, you understand my perspective right? From my perspective you're just a nameless mook" really the direction you want to go for justifying your method of customer engagement?
