I use Linux because it was heavily suggested during my CompSci course as a freshman. I use it for watching videos, reading books, browsing, etc.
Linux is better at most things but even I'm not stupid enough to deny its drawbacks. It's just that I don't have any of those drawbacks. I don't play games, I don't use Adobe shit.
And even if that person's using GIMP, that's similar enough that basic tools like shapes would be in similar places and would have similar function.
