the ones who left will no longer perform at the kind of scenes Holos perform, or get the same level of tech support in making the event highly produced (the Phantome Thief concert was on the level of some of Holo's earliest gigs)
they will never appear in anime or TV commercials, even top tier streamers appearing in those are still a rarity and novelty, if not just a quick gag
they won't get official work from an actual government, though they can still feel they accomplish something similar through charity streams
in the end, they'll be like ~10k viewer streamers, which is on like... Northernlion level
meanwhile Holos have the chance to be actual cultural phenomena and something similar coming from indies is usually down to blind luck and doesn't persist (like Lolikami being an object of focus and memes... for a couple months)
obviously, that only encourages the girls that want to shine, who want to perform, who want to sweat their ass off and sing out to the limits of their breath, and not everyone wants to be that... and those gonna drop sooner or later
