I wouldn't be at all surprised if Cover pushed her to get vocal surgery because of that: maybe because other health issues induced a necessity, or because singing caused the problem specifically, or because she was too loud too long during normal streaming (since singing techniques don't really help there,) but it always be a mixture of all three.
Regardless, Mumei probably wouldn't like being pressured to do something like that, and there's no way to know what kind of friction might exist as a result. Companies aren't great at being considerate, though, even if people in them try to be.
