Generative AI finally made me realize what "sovl" truly meant.
There is, factually, a good number of terrible, poorly made and awful looking texts, images or songs out there, and I can recognize that. So when another anon comes and calls it sovlful, I never really began to think how deep that joke goes.
It took hours, even days, for someone to make that piece of garbage and it took some real fucking courage to post it, and not even once that person said "Yo, we gotta stop this, this is straight ass" or maybe they did think that, but they really didn't stop. Instead, they took it with pride, and as part of their learning curve of the skill they desperately want to be a part of, and the mockery that comes after is as expected. Maybe the person behind it will tune their skills, maybe they will drop it, or maybe they will be 84 at some point and still be so shit at it.
Generative AI gets rid of that, each time a bad product comes out, it learns from it, and it does whatever it takes to not produce it anymore, as we see the other anon simply calling it "slop" after seeing it. Sure, this produces "better" products, but what really is a better product if there's no bad products to compare it to. Arguably, the "learning curve" is something the AI has, and something the one writing the prompt tries to push forward, but is the skill really yours when you are only writing a better command to it. At what point is this no longer a tool, but a replacement of our pride and ego,
Welcome to the death of the age of "sovl", There is no good or bad, just slop.
May god help us all.
