Let's face it guys, Mori is not that great of a singer. She's amazing at making lyrics, but her singing is off, and I know the reason why. She's too infatuated with her own genius. You can easily see it in her cover of 'Envy Baby' when you compared it with Polka's. Polka just sings the song, pretty simple, but it works out well. Mori tries to 'improve' the song by adding various lyrics over the top, which sync in alright, but she continuously tries to highlight how smart she is but essentially throwing the lyrics in your face. For example, in one part of the song she sings 'Low Thing, Loathing' to change up the original 'Ronin, Ronin'. The thing is, it's a great little piece. It fits in with the song, it rhymes, it makes sense as a sentence, it sounds like she's saying the same word, all good. The problem is she doesn't sing it cleanly, ON PURPOSE. She wants you to know how good this line is, so instead of singing it so the words sound so similar you'd think they're the same, only to hear it a second time to uncover the intelligence of it, she simply tells you by lengthening the cadence and stopping on every syllable. It ruins it simply because she couldn't help herself and figured the deadbeats would be too stupid to realise how good it was, and because of that, she gimps herself. She needs to elevate her singing to the point where she doesn't need to include pointless rap and work on her rhythm and cadence instead, and trust that us deadbeats will understand how good the song is. She's not at that level yet. What she should do is be like a Sia to Gura's Lorde, and write Gura some songs that would work with her singing voice. I think doing that sort of thing will really elevate HoloEN and unlock... something. I don't know yet, but this NEEDS TO HAPPEN? Thoughts?
