for one yeah, fun and nonsensical things for kids should be a thing and generally always were part of media, usually in shorter forms (cartoons) and I feel like a lot of this role was inherited by tiktok shit or stuff like Skibidi Toilet, which I don't really mind
on the other hand, I feel like older long-form content like movies was typically more respectful of its child audience and actually had them face some important problems and learn lessons within a more coherent story structure (and modern kids movies still have those in things like Frozen or Moana)
I'm just not a fan of them getting fed slop from both directions, where the longform content is more like a gathering of tiktok clips enclosed within a barely-held-together storyline
