>>99050312>here's a counterpoint: heaven on earth, and god will go down to earth to dwell with peopleGod did that in the beginning in the garden of eden, it's man that disrupted that
It is written that all things will be thrown into the lake of fire, including the heavens and the earth; and God will create a new heaven and a new earth and THERE will be no more suffering or pain or sin, the old has passed away and man shall now feel with God in heaven and on earth
If you don't get right with God you will be included in with what is thrown into the lake of fire
>>99050493Just because it's not literal does not mean it won't happen?
And most Christians understand that the book of revelation is not literal, including early Christians
>>99050568>>Indeed, there is not a righteous man on earth who continually does good and who never sins (Ecclesiastes 7:20).>>All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).>>Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God. (Genesis 6:9)>>In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil. (Job 1:1)Not a contradiction, the Bible also says that a righteous man falls, but gets back up
It shows that they would perpetually seek God's mercy and forgiveness
>No one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him (1 John 5:18; see also 1 John 3:6, 3:9).This is 1. talking about one who is reborn and now in Christ, and as Paul says in the book of Romans:
>(Romans 7:20)Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.All of this first section is not a contradiction and in fact it shows the internal consistency of the Bible despite the many different authors
>> The women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples (Matthew 28:8).>> When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others (Luke 24:9).>> Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid. (Mark 16:8)Not a contradiction on account of the lack of temporal clues, it's possibles that they at first did not tell them, but later did
No contradiction in the second section either
>>No one has ever seen God (1 John 4:12).>>No man has seen or can see [God] (1 Timothy 6:16).>>The Lord appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day (Genesis 18:1).The one to meet Abraham was a preincarnate form Jesus, specifically what is called the angel of the LORD, which is repeated many times in the same story of Abraham
The idea of that being the ANGEL of the LORD is supported by the fact that the same character latter appeared with 2 other men, who later were identified as angels
>>The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend (Exodus 33:11).Face to face is an idiom meaning intimately or the like
Not a contradiction yet again, this third section
>>The days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah. (see Hebrews 8:6–13)>>Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. (Matthew 5:17–18)Not a contradiction, as affirmed by Jesus Himself
However, i will clarify that Jesus meant that He had come to complete the law: when God told Moses that there shall be no murder, He omitted anger or hate form it because of the hardened hearts of His people(it is shown multiple times that God will allow certain things due to the hardness of the Israelites), but later FULFILLED the law by fully revealing the heart in Jesus, who preached about the nature and state of the heart of man and of God's will and intent
Thus, it was a renewed covenant— new doesn't mean the old is null: the focus is shifted and the jews are no longer required to follow certain laws due to there now being no distinction between jew or gentle, only thing that matters is if you're of God or of the devil; Israel is no longer God's chosen nation, the church has replaced it
Not a contradiction, the easiest to refute of them all
The Bible is completely and fully internally consistent, and it's also externally consistent
Hope this helps!
