The competition is nonexistent, with the only competitor being its predecessor, because Sony doesn't have anything worth playing other than a sequel to a tech demo, and Microsoft doesn't care about consoles because they are focused on following DEI and the PC scene. You can still play any game made on the Switch, but including GameCube if you get the expansion pass, meaning it is strictly better other than price, and no one cares about 'Oh, you don't actually own the game' except for people in the know. Nintendo also excels at having first party games, and the entire previous generation of non-Nintendo games can easily be backported to this one, due to how games operate nowadays, and it would only take some optimization for modern games due to diminishing returns.
Also, the games are $80 USD for the 'premium games', not $90, and certainly not $100. They are $70 for most others.
