>>99057078I've just been thinking about it
because panko started playing it and because I did a DaS1 playthrough 1-2 years ago, a DaS3 playthrough half a year ago, Bloodborne and Elden Ring all have every character slot filled with how many times I've played those titles. I got into Souls games a few months before DaS2 was released so I have a sentimental spot for the game and how fun the community aspect of it was. I'm not going to just say "git gud" to all the people who hate Dark Souls II, but I think the general stuff people complain about is
>adaptability being "required"It's not, it's just so you can roll through rather than tank attacks. If you're coming from a game later than DaS2 not having 6 rolls with crazy i-frames feels lacking.
>uglyThis is a fair point, the textures/shaders look worse than it's prequel.
>generic bossesTradeoff being the game has like double every other game's bosses.
>can't play like saruei and just run past everything until you hit a bossIt was a conscious decision to give enemies really long aggro range, have tons of mobs, and not reset their spawn if you do the quit to main menu cheese like all the others. Same with the decision to give players less Estus and slower heals.
>soul memoryThis one is really just a skill issue moment. Don't die with tons of souls on you or get the ring that keeps your soul memory stagnant. This was a feature to prevent twinks which was one of DaS1's worst PvP issues.
