NTA but I like vtubing cause it feels like I’m interacting with anime characters and I think that’s fun. Most of the appeal is the models for me and just seeing them move and then seeing all the art for them and how people perceive them, watching how the chuuba brings the persona or character they're embodying to life. I know theyre just yapping and playing games 90% of the time but even just those actions gives life to every character and I think that’s cool.

My personal logic for why i watch vtuber idols over normal idols is that hiding behind virtual avatars helps keep up the immersion that the girls are friendly, pure, etc. Call me autistic but when i see real idols i cant help but think about the smile they’re faking, if something’s happening in their personal life, etc that breaks the immersion. Thats not to say vtuber idols are wholly immersive but it makes it a lot more believable. Also i think there’s potential for more creativity in the persona they create as virtual idols vs what can realistically be pulled off for real idols and virtual idols are sexier to me
