>>9916113After the call, Kiara flies over to Japan to meet up with Mio. Hearing that her Senpai was terminally ill and that her help is needed was already enough for her to come as fast as she could. Arriving in front of the hospital, Kiara finds the wolf, waiting in front of the ambulance parking spot, drinking what seems to be canned coffee. She lands, her claws into feet as she hits the ground, heels tapping into the ground, alerting Mio of her presence.
> Mio-Senpai, I came as fast as I could. How can I help? > Thank you for coming Kiara. I know this is a lot to ask from you, but I don't have anyone else to rely on anymore. Fubuki is... she is not gonna make it. > She needs your powers Kiara, please help Fubuki! > Of course I will! What do I have to do? Mio looks down at the ground with a solemn look on her face, and then looks back up at her after a short pause.
> Fubuki is in dire need of a transplant. A bone marrow transplant. Her cancer has progressed too much, at this rate she will die in a white room alone, I don't want that! Mio looks to the ground again, gritting her teeth.
> I... can't do anything by myself. I can't help her. I need you, Kiara. Will you please help us? She bows, only not doing a dogeza due to the dirty concrete of the street being in the way. No response, only silence. Mio looks up curiously to see what is Kiara's reaction. She is shocked to see her face, a terrifyingly cold and empty stare, her expression totally void of emotion. It doesn't last long, her face turns back into her usual happy self shortly after, which only serves to shock Mio again.
> A transplant huh? Sure, I can do it! Can we talk about this somewhere more private? Mio nods and follows her to the roof of the hospital. The whole way, Kiara doesn't say a word, always staying in front of Mio, her face not being seen at all in the long and awkward silent walk up the stairs.
Finally, they arrive. Mio walks up to the edge of the rooftop, looking back, she doesn't see Kiara anywhere.
> Kiara? Where are you? The wolf looks around, then goes to the door, only to find it melted shut. She hears the sound of flames behind her.
> I decided to show you... as a parting gift. Mio is paralyzed with a sudden onslaught of fear, her body can't move, she can't even turn her head around. She feels the heat of the fire behind her as Kiara's deep emotionless voice continues.
> You see, I once helped a friend in need, way back around the times the pyramids were being built. They needed a heart transplant, or they would die. > Naturally, I decided to help. Me being a Phoenix, I figured "what's the harm? I can just heal up". And so, I opened up a hole in her chest and gave her my heart, literally.> I used my flames to seal up the wound, since there wasn't really any medical tools like you humans do back then. > At first I was worried, they didn't respond for a good half a day. I thought that I had killed her but... > No, what ended up happening was that she became a Phoenix too. Someone... just like me. And I can't have that, you know? I am the one and only, the legendary Phoenix that every fantasy book talks about nowadays. > I couldn't have some copy of me roaming around... even if it was a friend of mine. And so I made a deal with a certain someone. Calliope, the death's apprentice. It isn't particularly easy to kill a Phoenix you know? It took a whole lot of effort. Gruesome, lots of blood, fire and destruction. > And that brings us back to now. Kiara puts one hand on Mio's shoulders, sending a chill up her spine. She manages to look back, ever so slightly, only to see a evil face of indifference in Kiara's face. Then sharp pain, strong enough to make her vision blurry. A crackling noise is heard as a fist was being forced against the wolf's spine. Then, a snap, the fist comes through her chest exploding blood everywhere. A small gasp is heard from Mio, and then blood spills out from her mouth. Kiara leans in next to her ear and says:
> Even if it's my Senpai, I will not allow anyone to threaten my throne, no matter what. > And now, you're going to have to dissapear, Mio-Senpai. Mio puts a hand on Kiara's fist that was resting inside her ribcage, no words come out but her lips motion a simple question. Why? Kiara removes the fist from inside her, she falls onto the ground face first as a splat of blood can be heard on impact. Her eyes empty and lifeless. Kiara shakes off the blood from her hand, then returns to her human form, the flames around her vanishing.
> But don't you worry Mio-Senpai. Your sacrifice will not be in vain. > A bone marrow transplant you said? Well, don't mind if I do. Kiara kneels down and tears the tail apart from Mio's behind, then digs into her hips with inhuman force, removing her whole pelvis, dripping blood all over the floor.
> I'll make sure this reaches the right hands. You should be grateful to me, aren't I the kindest Kouhai you've ever met? 「Mio has graduated」
