My ramblings that nobody asked for.
Nobody remembers Chris, and nobody likes holoCN gen 2. holoCN gen 1 was a tragedy, but generally overshadowed by the other stuff. Rushia ended up being so bad that it almost retroactively ruined memories many had with her.
Aloe was sad for many as it was the first time any talent left (outside of Chris), but unlike Chris, Aloe did nothing wrong. When it comes to /vt/, it was not too much longer after this event that /vt/ was made. And since /vt/ was a hololive board in basically its entirety for the first half year or so, it was the tragedy everyone remembered.
If Aloe was sad, Coco's graduation was traumatic. It was hololive's first real and proper graduation. Obviously, it hit us here on Haachama World pretty hard based on how Chama felt. But it also hit the whole fanbase pretty hard. On /vt/, it also gave the enemy #1 of the time, China, a win. SEA was not enemy #1 of the time, but the Chinese. The sadness after Coco left was also compounded by her graduation feeling like a funeral, which honestly, is what I thought graduations were supposed to be like.
Sana was the first graduation that didn't have the full attention of the fanbase. By this time, there started to be a distinct "EN fan" versus a "JP fan". Back when Myth debuted and /vt/ was made, everybody who was into Myth either was already a fan of hololive, which was pretty much just JPs or at least if they were only a fan of Myth, they were a minority. But by the time of Sana's graduation, the amount of newfags who came in with EN and were only EN fans was high. And conversely, it seems like JP fans here kind of stopped being as in-tune to the "side branches" by the time of Council coming out. So Sana graduating left much less of an impact. Still sad though, but everybody who was into EN could tell this wasn't the career for her.
Mel was a shock to many people, and it was the very first retirement that came out of nowhere. A termination no less. However, if Sana was a literal who to JP fans, then Mel was a literal who to EN fans. And since this board is mainly EN fans these days, she got more bait threads than threads actually sad about her. Regardless, a tragedy of her being too pon. And those who have an actual heart were sad.
While A-chan's departure didn't come from nowhere, the story is pretty much the same as Mel's in terms of /vt/ reaction. But again, anybody who knows their history was sad.
We then have the string of graduations. Every single one of them was decently predictable (except for Fauna). They all had either barely streamed, had various long hiatuses, and/or health issues. But each one of them were sad as fuck.
>Aqua
Almost my oshi early on before Chammers got me. This one hurt the most.
>Ame
Anybody in Myth going is going to make waves over the entire fanbase, EN or JP. And she definitely did.
>Chloe
Probably localized to the JP side of things and those who jerked off to her.
>Fauna
Probably localized to the EN side of things, but the one real surprise.
>Shion
Shion is probably the most lusted after JP on here, but for me, I'll remember her because I watched Aqua a lot. Sadly, she had literally no general on this board.
>Mumei
Taranchama... but other than Chama being fond of her, this was probably localized to the EN side of things
>Gura
Any Myth leaving makes waves all over, but Gura also had a decently sized JP fanbase. Probably the most 'iconic' talent graduation since Coco.
I hope we won't have any more talents leave for a while.
