I'm going to be honest, Sinder didn't do anything wrong.

Every indie is in direct competition with every other indie. If you're not trying to sabotage the competition then you're just not trying. If there was any fault, it's with the community for trying to build up this clearly fake image that all the indies are part of a large pool of collab partners. You should not be collabing with other indies if you can't keep them under your thumb. It directly hurts your own bottom line.

Hololive aren't indies. And indies shouldn't try to be Hololive. Sure, small collab groups can work but you should be actively working against everyone else who isn't in your 3-5 person clique.

Sort of. With the vtubing market for indies growing the truth is that the availability of the good or most noteworthy designers and riggers is becoming less and less for all. This means that competition is fierce for those services and some vtubers have complained about having to wait for their key designers or modelers to make a new model. With how much a model can help drive engagement and how much your brand is predicated on that recognizable image, the idea that someone wanted to try to go an 'exclusive' route for themselves is not at all unusual, and if that was the beginning and end of this, then it wouldn't be a big deal. It means Sinder got ahead of the competition to secure her brand. And if Nano was willing and was being suitably compensated for her exclusivity to only Sinder, then what you have is just a contract between two professionals; two adults in a legal binding term. There is literally nothing wrong with that and while it might be seen as a bit of a weasel move by some others, they'd just be mad they didn't think of it first and it would start an arms race / war for those resources for exclusivity contracts which only the most well-off vtubers would be able to afford. While this would drive more vtubers to find more riggers / modelers which might expand that availability, which might be a good thing overall, in the short term it would screw over a lot of others who wanted Nanoless models. But it would all be fair game.

The problem is what Sinder / Redacted did beyond that. Targeting others for screwing over and... while I am not really believing that this was going on with Nano... manipulating Nano into the situation. That's where things went sideways. It's just business, don't make it personal.

By not buying the fact the artist's "uwu woe is me" bullshit when she consented to do it and is trying to pull a #MeToo after taking the money for exclusivity, and even then breaking the agreement anyways, with Sinder saying it's fine.

The problem is that sabotaging your connections is a death sentence in the industry. If you rely on malicious methods to climb that ladder, you will get knocked off the moment you're caught like now.
