Looking at all the rrats, the most likely reason is contract dispute over merch and the fact Matara is a part of WME, which is a direct rival of Mythic which the owner of Vshojo owns too.
Both sides dug in and Matara probably expected VShojo to blink due to something similar with Zentreya happened (When she removed her Vshojo tags on twitter for a bit) which is why she got blind sided by them just letting her go.
