>>99607398You have a point. You may be an anti, a doomposter, and a troll that has it out for Hololive, but you have a point. It is not a good look for Hololive. Fauna and Mumei aside, the loss of Gura specifically is a very strategic blow to Holo EN due to her contribution to the EN branch, as well as her popularity as the most suscribed and watched Vtuber (well, when she streams).
But its also likely that Cover took a risk. Yes, Gura is popular. But she also doesn't stream. For a person with such musical talent, she didn't grind her work the way other talents like Mori, Irys and Nerissa did. (and while I agree Mori is inferior as a singer, I will fight you on the other two. Especially Irys) It is also possible that Cover typecasted Gura to be a loli singer and thus only okayed songs that were high pitched Jpop, as opposed to the lower key Gura is more comfortable and excels at. It is also possible that Gura wanted to focus on EN, and attract the EN audience.
And this is all speculation. Unless a tell-all comes out, it doesn't really contribute to anything. So lets accept some facts. Gura is graduating. This is not a termination, and as such its an amicable parting. More importantly, Gura is getting a graduation stream. Sure, she's not getting the big graduation she clearly deserves for a talent of her calibre, but we don't know if she wanted to leave quietly, or if she was unwilling to travel to Japan. And that's a lot of what it boils down to - Cover's emphasis on the Japan market (and branch), and some of its EN mebers - particularly SNOT - preferring to focus on the West.
I could go on about this, but, and even its a bad look for Cover, its not as simplistic as you may want it to be. Creative differences are what they are, and Gura's not going to do some big tell-all next week. Hell, she described her time on Hololive as "growth". For whatever grievances she may have, she knows she benefited from her time on Hololive.
tl;dr Cover is not Anycolor, this is not black and white. Chill a bit.
