most vtubers fight with eachother for the same pool of fans. gura routinely crushes other vtuber numbers drawing a bit from them, but mostly pulling in people from outside. this stream for example hit over 90k before it was done.
and it's not japanese vtuber fans. if it was that, her numbers would look more like fuwamoco's. fuwamoco is what crossover appeal looks like. gura stomps that too, and does it without speaking japanese.
