First, she wanted her exclusive mama because she wanted to be like a Hololive vtuber. Hololive doesn't just hire model artists off Twitter, they hire big-name Japanese character designers for their talent, like Huke for Kiara or Wada Arco for Kronii. These are not vtuber artists, they don't do shit like this just for everyone. This means everyone in Hololive is legitimately unique (I know there are exceptions, but you get the idea). She wanted that, and hated the idea that her artist went viral and produced similar models for a bunch of other people, so that's why she wanted to "lock her in". And the story about Bao's editor is similar in nature.
Sinder and her bf were trying to become as big as possible, but they were very sloppy about it. Make no mistake, all of those indie bitches are like that. The viewers are finite, and the money is not a guarantee, so it's a cutthroat competition. They smile at each other and shake hands happily, but each one is carrying a gun behind their back. For example, I don't even doubt that Bao nicked Sinder's editor with at least some intent of stealing her thunder, like Sinder suspected. It's just good business.
That's why this kind of shit doesn't happen among corpos like Hololive. They're not competing for viewership, they all get paid wages, they're boats in the same port - a rising tide lifts all of them. Notice how the Rushia scandal, the biggest in corpo vtubing history, had nothing to do with other vtubers, it was just her being a dumbass. Managers can sometimes act like assholes too. But vtubers themselves do not cannibalize each other like what we're seeing here.
