>>99739923>Concerts are expensive. Someone had to cough up cash up front and I don't think it was Nimi or Dooby. They were approached by Oshi spark this time so the company has faith it them apparently. The majority of the concert funding comes from the merch sales, the ticket prices scale to the venue/av rentals. Chatting with some of the staff on discord it actually sounds like a pretty nice business to be a part of, but its a seasonal thing. The main money maker is the merch they sell, sorta like how old concerts made money in the past.
Ashton sold off all the merch last time they had an even together at offkai (though she did say she paid for some of that one, but apparently her slice of the merch pie paid all that off so she made money)
She isn't a trust fund baby as much as people say though, chick is a legitimate nuclear engineer outside of vtubing.
Hyuni sells a lot of her own merch and is more of a Vartist than a streamer, but she is beloved in that scene. If you were at Offkai last year she had a line out of the artist alley space due to being a one day vendor. So people lined up out the building for artist alley, and then again lined up out the vendor space to buy her stuff. If you've talked with people who do a lot of the vtuber adjacent convention stuff a lot of people will know of Hyuni.
