The only reason she could reach such a high CCV towards the end was because of her not streaming anymore, so the few times she wasn't too lazy to press a button became a sort of social event where everyone dropped what they were currently watching since if they missed this one it would be a good 5-6 months before the next one.

Gura was popular and still popular but her popularity today is just carry over from her debut year. She didnt build on that and instead crashed after the debut year. The current popularity after is just slow stagnation from that era. Its so disappointing and waste of talent that she basically soft graduated years ago

Gura was lighting in a bottle due to initial EN vtuber hype, Covid lockdowns, and natural charisma that is rare for a vtuber. There will never be another Hololive EN talent with 4.7 million subscribers since the market has declined and there is far more competition. Cover were idiots for losing her and Japanese management are living in a delusion they can get that same level of hype with heavy botting and HoloEarth. How badly they have failed to keep talents from leaving in 2025 shows that Yagoo has fallen into the idol company mindset that marketing alone can make another Gura. The budget EN graduations were insulting and shows that like Nijisanji that upper management has barely hidden contempt for the EN talents and their fans.
