My favourite anime would have to be.
Mira Nikki

Here are some of my reasons for it.
The characters: I enjoyed every single character in this anime. Every single one of them had a distinct personality to each of them, from being absolutely wimpy, to being positively insane. You could tell which character was which from the way that they interacted with each other, and how they all wanted to become god for different reasons.
Foreshadowing : Right at the beginning of the anime we are presented with a 30 second clip about what actually happened to start, like others I'm sure I was confused at the purpose of this, but after watching the anime to last few episodes and having it constantly in my mind, I felt the feeling of "Ohhh, that's what it was" sudden realization followed by an inevitably chuckle at the cleverness at how it was both foreshadowing and showing previous events.
The (love? backstories?) things like this in general: The couple of the 7th diary owners Ai and Marco, were a wonderful couple in my opinion, no matter how the tragic past caused to to come to be, I enjoyed how they both wanted to live together as gods, and how their diary's complimented each other's much like Yuki and Yuno's did, however except they both had the chance to become gods together. The love for eachother and sacrifice that they did made me happy. The backstories of the characters while all being traumatic for the ones they told, seemed to be enjoyable for me, how some tied together made it interesting.
The ending: The way that it ended was actually kind of both expected and unexpected, with the addition of the Mirai Nikki: Redial OVA, it explained much more what happened.
Yuki: The (protagonist?) of the story. Let's be serious here, as many people would say that he's too much of a wimp or doesn't do anything, he seems to me to be a quite realistic character. I myself could see that if I were just a bystander without much self confidence *cont on next post*
