>>1496506I used gimp. Started with the wand thing to get all the large areas, made a new layer, "grew" the selection by 1 pixel, and feathered it by 2. I used the selection to make a layer mask on a new layer painted solid grey. Then I touched up the mask around the hair with a soft brush. Honestly, the wand selection came out much better than it usual.
