>>1607590I'm a first timer too but I've spent a while lurking to know the basics, so here's my beginner criticism.
You use too many anchors when drawing, and you don't smooth it out correctly. This makes a jagged look and you can see it especially in the tail and ears.
Parallel lines need to stay parallel - the rings are a good example of this, they taper in at points where they shouldn't.
The line consistency is a bit all over the place, especially in places like the ears
However, I do like the gradient in the ears, that's a nice smooth change. I have a feeling the darker circles are meant to be more clean and absolute though, I'd keep them just solid colour.
The left eye seems a bit dodgy, the pupil(?) is a little off-centre and elongated.
Anyway, I just finished my first ever vector (yayyy). daul told me to use shapes instead of strokes so I'll definitely do that in my next one, I decided just to finish this one while I was still in the zone. Kinda. So there are lots of flat lines and places where it doesn't meet up perfectly but otherwise I'm kinda happy with it. Any comments would be appreciated.
