It's usually better to try to get the coloration to fit a "neutral" time - usually noon, on a sunny day - then to adapt it to colration specific to say, sunset or the middle of the night.
Case in point: This image of Hajime from Gatchaman - i am going to set it more than being the "bluish" of night, to fit the colors during daytime.
Since we don't have many images with this coloration, I'm going to wait, and hopefully the show will have it, otherwise, I'll have to play it by ear, but hopefully soon, this will change.
