I can tell you; it was the burning wills of many people over millennia. How was this flame made, you probably wish to ask? I will tell you this also. The man who unintentionally created the Flame of Exile was, oddly enough, known as The Exile. He was excluded from society and the general community simply because he was strange. Not slightly strange, but strange to the point where he would not follow any respected customs or beliefs. “In the name of everybody’s happiness, and making this world of Heaven better, I seek to make as many people better and happier as I can,” I remember him saying. Ironically, trying to help people by changing his personality into something so different set him apart from those he wished to make better. He was alienated, and eventually had to leave for the lands beyond the border, to seek out his place, for he had none within Heavens’ civilization. He hated and loved it at the same time, and it just hated him and all of his difference. The Exile, in his wanderings, found one of my experimental sites of power, over the border. A Brazier in fact, made to capture certain… matter. He touched it, little knowing that the Brazier would capture his most burning passions and hopes, all his thoughts that defined him, and meld it into pure willpower. The Brazier wrested every ounce of the man’s intense desire to better the world, to prove he was worth something, from his mind.
