It wouldn't bother me so much if the complexity was the reason why it was delayed, but aside from details such as the mouth it was surprisingly simple (considering the source material anyways). No, the reason why it was delayed is that i'm lazy and this is really starting to annoy me.
Anyways, i think i understand what you mean with the hair. I have a few ideas that will hopefully change the feel a bit more towards "wavy".
Those are the very rare instances where a bit of an education in art might have helped me ...
